Living in Riverside, Windsor: The Established East End on the Water
Riverside runs along the Detroit River through Windsor's east end, with Riverside Drive and Wyandotte Street as its spine. It was its own town until 1966, and it still reads that way: mature streets, established housing, a genuinely good trail along the water, and the sort of settled feeling that takes decades to develop and can't be built new.

What drives value in Riverside is maturity: traditional established streets under a fifty-year tree canopy that time makes and no new subdivision can manufacture, set on the river, next to the trail, and minutes from downtown at prices more accessible than the setting suggests.

Riverside was a town before it was a neighbourhood. It amalgamated into Windsor in 1966, and if you drive it now you can still feel that it grew up as its own place rather than as an extension of somewhere else.
What drives value here is maturity. These are traditional neighbourhoods in the truest sense: streets that were laid out generations ago, trees that have had fifty and sixty years to fill in overhead, and housing that has settled into itself. That character is the product of time, and no new subdivision anywhere in the county can manufacture it.
The second driver is what you get for that. Riverside sits on the river, next to the trail, minutes from downtown, and the price points here are more accessible than the setting would suggest. That combination is the reason people who start their search elsewhere in the city often end up looking here.
And then there's the water. The Detroit River is right there, the Ganatchio Trail runs 5.3 kilometres through the neighbourhood, and Reaume Park and Coventry Gardens sit on the bank looking across at Belle Isle.

Reaume Park and Coventry Gardens
One site, two names, and one of the most photographed places in Windsor. Landscaped gardens, granite patios, mature shade trees, and a wide view of the Detroit River with Detroit's Belle Isle across the water. The patios double as staging for concerts and events through the summer. The land came to the city from Joseph Réaume, who ran a hot dog stand and a gas station on part of it back in the 1920s. The Charles Brooks Memorial Peace Fountain, the world's only international floating fountain, stood here for decades and has now been removed. A new International Charles Brooks Memorial Peace Fountain is in design, with installation planned for 2026 and commissioning expected in 2027.
The Ganatchio Trail
Windsor's second bike trail, running 5.3 kilometres from Vernon Crescent and Wyandotte east to the Tecumseh town limits, through Riverside and Little River. It connects into the Riverfront Trail, and together they make up a Windsor waterfront route of roughly 25 kilometres, about 15 of it off-road. It serves Stop 26 Beach and Park along the way.
Little River Corridor Park
A long naturalized park system following Little River, with trails, boardwalks, and wildlife. It's a different kind of green space from the manicured riverfront, and the two together are what give Riverside its outdoor identity.
Farrow Riverside Miracle Park
An outdoor pool, playground, ball diamonds that host the local little league, sports fields, and picnic space.

East Riverside Park, Goose Bay Park, Alexander Park, and neighbourhood parkettes throughout.
The WFCU Centre
A 6,500-seat arena and event venue, home to the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL and the city's main room for major concerts, trade shows, and community events. Having it in the neighbourhood is a real amenity.
On the water
The Windsor Yacht Club, Lakeview Park Marina, and Kayak Cove cover slips, launches, and paddle access to the river.
Wyandotte Street
The commercial spine, with grocery, pharmacy, banks, salons, and professional services, plus restaurants, cafés, and pubs. The Riverside branch of the Windsor Public Library is on Wyandotte. Tecumseh Mall and the big-box plazas along Tecumseh Road and Lauzon Parkway are five to ten minutes away.
Healthcare
No hospital in the neighbourhood. Windsor's hospitals are a short drive, with clinics, dental offices, and pharmacies locally for routine care.
Getting around
Riverside Drive, Wyandotte, and Lauzon Parkway are the main routes, with downtown, the university, and the border all roughly five to ten minutes. Transit runs the major corridors.
